Earlier, he built Carrentals.co.uk and DiscountVouchers.co.uk under ASAP Ventures (2001–2016), selling both in 2016. Today, Doug Scott and the 37X Ventures team bring that experience to every current project and programme relationship.

Redbrain is a commerce technology business Doug Scott established in 2016 and ran for nine years, bootstrapped throughout with no outside investment. It has grown into Europe's largest Comparison Shopping Service partner by volume. Redbrain currently reports £1.2 billion in incremental sales, 634 million clicks during 2025, more than 5,000 retail clients and an average nine-times return on ad spend. Doug stepped back from day-to-day operations in March 2025.

DiscountVouchers.co.uk was a UK discount and offer platform built under ASAP Ventures, connecting consumers with promotional codes and offers from major high-street and specialist online retailers. At scale it had more than 6 million registered subscribers, attracted around 150,000 unique visitors per day and featured offers from more than 800 retailers. At its peak, the platform sent 6 million emails per day. It operated on an affiliate-funded model before its sale in 2016.
